Endothelial PAS Domain-Containing Protein 1

A basic helix-loop-helix transcription factor that regulates expression of genes in response to oxygen, including VASCULAR ENDOTHELIAL GROWTH FACTOR. It plays a role in the development of blood vessels (NEOVASCULARIZATION, PHYSIOLOGIC) and lung tissue.
