Phomopsis

A genus of fungi in the family Valsaceae, order Diaporthales and phylum ASCOMYCOTA. Phomopsis fungi are ascomycetes found in the soil and plants and are causative agents for plant fungal diseases such as leaf blight and fruit rots.
