AMW:PHYS:040077A type of programmed cell death resembling NECROSIS, with mitochondrial and ENDOPLASMIC RETICULUM swelling and accumulation of CYTOPLASMIC VACUOLES. Distinctive morphological changes to the CELL NUCLEUS are absent.
