Reduced capacity to respond to subsequent ENDOTOXIN challenges after an initial exposure. It is characterized by reduced responsiveness of INNATE IMMUNE RESPONSES, a shift from pro- to anti-inflammatory cell phenotype and impaired ANTIGEN PRESENTATION.
